Butterscotch Popcorn

I had a long and a tiring day. I wanted to make  myself a good snack, something that can be made in a jiffy. Popcorn was the first thing that came to my mind. Instead of the regular popcorn, I add this yummy butterscotch popcorn.

Butterscotch is actually made with brown sugar. Today I made it with refined sugar as I didn’t have brown sugar with me.

It came really well and I enjoyed with a cup of masala tea:)

Ingredients

——————

Popcorn seeds – 1/2 cup

Butter – 1 tbsp
For the butterscotch

——————————-

Sugar – 5 tbsps

Butter – 2 tsp

Salt – a pinch

Method

Heat a heavy bottom pan.

Add butter. To the melted butter, add the popcorn seeds and mix well so that the seeds are coated with butter.

Once the seeds start popping, close the pan with a lid and reduce the flame.

Once the popping sound stops, open the lid and give a good stir.

To make the butterscotch

—————————————-

Heat a pan. Add the sugar and cook till the sugar melts completely and turns golden.

Switch off the gas , add butter and mix well.

Now mix 2-21/2 cups of popcorn with the butterscotch well. Let it cool for sometime. The popcorn will become crisp on cooling.

Serve the popcorn immediately:)
