Vermicelli is known as Semiya in Tamil. Payasam means kheer. Semiya payasam is my husband and my daughter’s most favourite one and it’s made very often at home:)
I make this payasam in the microwave. Sharing with you all my simple, easy and micro wave recipe of delicious Semiya Payasam:)
Ingredients
Semiya ( vermicelli) -3/4 th cup
Full cream milk- 11/2 lits
Cardamom evaporated milk- 2 tins
Sugar- 3/4 th cup- 1 cup
Ghee- 1 tsp
Method
Take a big microwave bowl.
Mix ghee and vermicelli and microwave on high power for 1 min.
Take it out and mix well.
Now add the milk and microwave on high power for 15 mins stirring in between once.
Take out the bowl. Add sugar, cardamom evaporated milk to this and mix well.
Microwave this now on medium power for 15-20 mins or till the payasam becomes thick and creamy.
Serve the payasam at room temperature or chilled:)
