Today I made Cornflakes Mixture ( chivda). It’s my kids favourite and also very easy to make. One doesn’t need any special skill to make this. All the ingredients are fried, mixed and seasoned. But, it has to be fried in small batches. So, the only thing that is required to make this mixture is patience:)
Ingredients
Raw Cornflakes – 1/2 kg
Peanuts – 1/2 kg
Roasted Chana dal ( chutney dal) – 1/2 kg
Cashew nuts – 1+1/2 cups
Raisins – 1+1/2 cups
Curry leaves – 1 cup
Seasonings
Salt – 3 tsps ( or to taste)
Sugar – 2 tsps
Red chilli powder – 1+1/2 tsp
Dry mango powder – 1+1/2 tsp
Method
Mix the seasonings well and keep it aside.
Method
Mix the seasonings well and keep it aside.
Deep fry rest of the ingredients in small batches so that it gets fried well and crisp.
Also maintain a medium flame.
Drain the excess oil and mix all the fried ingredients.
Add the seasoning and mix well. Once it comes to room temperature, store it in an air tight container 🙂
