We are enjoying a lovely weather in Chennai for the past few days. I really felt like having some hot chocolate today. But to my dismay, I found that I didn’t have enough chocolate or chocolate syrup in stock.
So, I started making my usual masala tea. Suddenly got this idea of making chocolate tea. Immediately made few changes and added cocoa powder along with the tea leaves.
It was light, full of flavours and absolutely yummy:)
Ingredients
Skimmed milk – 1 cup
Water – 3/4th cup
Tea leaves – 2 tsps
Cocoa powder – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 2-3 tsps
Cinnamon stick – 1+1/2 inch
Cardamom – 2
Grated chocolate – 2 tbsps
Method
Add milk, water, cinnamon stick, cardamom and sugar in a pan. Let it boil.
When it starts boiling, reduce the flame and add tea leaves and cocoa powder.
Mix well and let it come to rolling boiling.
Take it off the gas. Cover and let it brew for few mins. Strain the tea, transfer it to a serving mug.
Top it with grated chocolate and serve it hot.
I and my son enjoyed the hot chocolate tea with some cardamom cookies 🙂
