It has been a while since I made Chinese food at home. Two days back, when I checked my fridge, I realised that I had all the ingredients to make some basic Chinese food. So, I made Cauliflower Manchurian and served it with Fried rice.
Cauliflower Manchurian really came out well. All of us at enjoyed it at home. It’s very easy to make and can be made in a jiffy. I am going to share my fool proof recipe with you and I hope you all would like it:)
Cauliflower florets- 1 cup
Soya sauce – 1 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Corn flour – 1 tbsp
Maida – 1 tbsp
Oil- as much required for frying
For the Sauce
Sliced spring onion ( white)- 1/2 cup
Garlic – 6-7 cloves
Ginger – 1 inch
Green chillies – 2
Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
Vinegar – 2 tsps
Tomato ketchup- 1 tbsp
Corn flour – 2 tbsps
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Water – 2 cups
Salt to taste
Sesame oil – 1-2 tbsps
Spring onion greens – 1/4th cup
Method
To make the sauce

Peel, crush and chop garlic.
Peel, wash and chop ginger finely.
Wash and chop green chillies finely.
Heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped ginger and garlic. Sauté till it turn golden. Add green chillies and chopped spring onions and sauté for few mins.
Add soya sauce, pepper powder, vinegar, sugar, tomato ketchup and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for a min.
Add 1+1/2 cups of water and let it boil. Check the seasonings.
Add 1/2 cup of water to corn flour and mix till it dissolves completely.
Reduce the flame and add this corn flour mixture while stirring continuously. Mix well and cook till the sauce thickens.
Keep it aside.
Blanch ( cook in boiling water for a min) the cauliflower. Drain well.
Add corn flour, maida, soya sauce, pepper and salt to taste.
Sprinkle little water and mix well. Check the seasonings.
Heat oil and deep fry the cauliflower till it turns crisp and brown.
Remove and keep it aside.
To serve the Manchurian

Heat the sauce, add the fried cauliflower and let it simmer for a min.
Garnish with spring onion greens and serve it hot with rice/ noodles 🙂
